World Calligraphy Day Celebrations Kick Off At John Lewis

The Oxford Street branch ran a workshop with calligrapher Lucy Khanam on Friday (9 August) ahead of this week of celebrations.

Lucy Khanam is a calligrapher and lettering artist specialising in Arabic, modern and many more styles. At the event in the Oxford Street branch of John Lewis, she demonstrated the Manuscript calligraphy products and met customers.

As part of the event, Manuscript unveiled a new Arabic beginner’s calligraphy set, with packaging designed by Lucy. “I had a wonderful time with Manuscript at the John Lewis Live Calligraphy Event,” said Lucy. “The event was well received and gained much interest. I’m so excited that there’s now an Arabic Calligraphy set available with Manuscript Pen Co. I can’t wait to see the projects come to life with the help of the pens!”

The new Arabic calligraphy set will launch at calligraphy.co.uk, on Friday 16 August.

The celebrations continue online with the World Calligraphy Day Challenge, running on Instagram until Friday 16 August. Each day this week is hosted by a different calligrapher, with five amazing prize bundles to won. “We encourage everyone to get involved and get creative,” says Corin. “You can join in on the fun over on @manuscriptpenco.”
