Stationery Matters Award Winner – Good Little Journals

We caught up with Ellie Good and Juliet Little from Good Little Journals, formerly knows as This Week’s Little Tweaks, following their win at this year’s Stationery Matters Awards. Read on to find out what their favourite products were at London Stationery Show and what set their award winning product apart from the other finalists.

Good Little Journals won the award for best notebook/journal at the Stationery Matters Awards 2023. This four-week workbook will assist you in building new, lifelong habits for better slumber, bringing mental clarity, energy and fun in your waking hours.

The Stationery Matters awards took place at London Stationery Show. Overall, how was the show for you?

We love visiting London Stationery Show and it’s really wonderful to be immersed in the colourful world of notebooks, writing implements and, of course, journaling! We particularly loved the show’s even bigger focus on sustainability this year, and we also got to catch up with our printers (Epic Print) while we were there too!

What do you think set your product apart from the rest of the finalists?

I think it has to be the fact that our journal is specifically about sleep; the very foundation of our lives, and that the techniques we use in the journal are all science-backed and tried and tested by Jules, who is an experienced life coach. The engaging design and sustainable ethos behind the production process I think will have also given us some big ticks!

Can you give us an overview of your top three products from the show?

We really loved the Coffee Notes ’beer stitched notebooks’ for eco-innovation and a lovely product for the user.

We are suckers for any kind of art or writing instrument, so we had more than a bit of fun trying out bold colours and quality pens at the Daler Rowney stand. It’s hard to pick any one thing!

We’ve admired the clever, paper-based stools by Paper Lounge. It’s endlessly fascinating how folded paper can hold the weight of a human!

What is one piece of advice you’d give to stationers planning on entering the Stationery Matters Awards in the future?

Make sure you’ve really honed in on what your point of difference is among your likely competitors. For us, there were a few things that made our journal unique, so we hammered those points home in our entry. We also wrote the entry, then left it for a bit. And we wrote the entry together as we both could feed in different ideas and points of view, which was helpful.
