We caught up with Lawrence Savage from Exacompta Clairefontaine following their two wins at the Stationery Matters Awards. Read on to find out more about their award winning products, and advice they have for future Stationery Matters Awards entrants.
Exacompta Clairefontaine won not one, but two awards at this year’s Stationery Matters awards. Their Exacompta Aquarel Store Box Multi won filing & storage product of the year and their Clairefontaine Inkebana Notebooks won licensed stationery product of the year.
The Stationery Matters awards took place at London Stationery Show. Overall, how was the show for you?
It was great to catch up with industry colleagues whilst meeting several new and existing customers. Ultimately, we found that there were numerous positives to come out of the show, including two winning entries within the awards!
What do you think set your product apart from the rest of the finalists?
Throughout the Exacompta Clairefontaine group we pride ourselves on developing innovative stationery solutions, which are designed with sustainability and the demands of the modern workforce in mind.
Can you give us an overview of your top three products from the show?
Our new Blue Angel certified, Exacompta Aquarel Store Box Multi, which won the ‘Filing & Storage Product of the Year’ award category, created a lot of interest with its system of eleven interchangeable drawers.
Thanks to some popular Creative Matters Workshops, professional artist Nick Stewart also generated a lot of attention for our Éclats Fine Art inks from Jacques Herbin and Clairefontaine Bamboo watercolour pads.
The new Exacompta ‘mega value’ stationery bundle FSDU also produced much interest with those visiting our stand during the show.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to stationers planning on entering the Stationery Matters Awards in the future?
With so much quality competition across the awards, take some time to choose which category your product best fits into, then keep your fingers crossed!
