Pelikan’s Hanover And Falkensee Facilities In Germany To Close

Pelikan’s parent company, Hamelin announced that the locations in Hanover and Falkensee will close at the end of the year.

The French company, Hamelin acquired Pelikan at the end of 2023. Two weeks ago, Hamelin announced that it will take over the distribution of the Pelikan and Herlitz brands from the beginning of 2025, which will mean the Pelikan sales and distribution locations in Hanover and Falkensee will be closed

It has been reported that 250 of the approximately 500 jobs at Pelikan in Germany are impacted. The production site in Peine, Lower Saxony, with around 230 employees, will stay open.

Hamelin ceo Eric Joan Hamelin said in a statement: “The structure we are now planning for Germany will enable us to deepen our relationship with our customers by providing them a comprehensive selection of products through a single catalogue and a one-stop shop.”

Hamelin is one of the leading manufacturers of school and office supplies in Europe. Oxford, the group’s flagship brand, is the leading European brand of notebooks and filing products.
