Notes & Queries To Celebrate 45 Years in 2025

American importer and distributor of British and European greeting cards, stationery, wrapping and gifts looks forward to celebrating milestone in 2025.

Notes & Queries was started in 1980 by Alan Harnik, known affectionately as ‘Big Al’ to his customers and friends. Trading firstly from a small pushcart in Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston, Alan now runs the business along with co-owner and daughter Vanessa Harnik from a 12,000 sq.ft warehouse in Baltimore, importing and distributing paper products (greeting cards, gift packaging, journals, stationery, boxed notes and more) from the UK and other European countries.

“Never thought we would make it through the first few years and look at us now,” Alan wrote on Linkedin. “So what will we do to celebrate our 45th year? As a start we are launching two new trading partners in December and will have a few more new companies in 2025 to add. Our trading partners, sales reps and our retailers will be our number one focus in 2025. Nearly one third of our independent account base has bought our line for over 20 years; I really don’t understand how they have put up with me all this long!”

Notes & Queries’ stationery portfolio includes products from: The Art File, Paper Salad, Laura Darrington Design, Museum & Galleries, Great British Card Company and Yop & Tom.
