Moleskine’s New Campaign Celebrates Handwriting

Through Unleash Your Genius, an immersive installation for Milan Design Week 2025, Moleskine celebrates the essential link between creativity, handwriting and innovation.

Research shows that writing by hand activates essential cognitive functions, enhances memory and focus, and fosters mental and emotional well-being. In an increasingly digital world, the blank page remains a space for discovery and connection; a place where thoughts take shape through the simple yet powerful act of writing.

With Unleash Your Genius, presented at Milan Design Week 2025 (7-13 April), Moleskine celebrates this connection through a project that brings together research, expression, and interaction. At the heart of the installation is the “Origami Brain” by artist Tony Pignatelli, a large-scale sculpture made entirely from Moleskine paper. This striking representation of the human mind symbolises the boundless potential of thought and the link between the act of writing and our ability to imagine, learn and innovate.

Surrounding this centerpiece, visitors are welcomed into an open creative laboratory where paper becomes a canvas for unlimited expression, awaiting to be transformed by ideas, marks, shapes and words. A striking wall composed entirely of Moleskine notebooks will evolve into a living, breathing mosaic of human creativity. This dynamic installation grows daily as visitors contribute their thoughts, sketches, and expressions, creating a collective dialogue about creativity, memory and identity.

Moleskine celebrates human genius and the enduring power of pen and paper, The installation will be accompanied by a series of workshops focused on paper and the importance of continuing to write and draw by hand,” states Christophe Archaimbault, CEO of Moleskine.
