In celebration of National Stationery week, Maped Helix launches its Once Upon a Classroom campaign, to encourage creative writing in classrooms around the UK.
The campaign will task school children in Years 3 to 5 to collaboratively write a story and design an accompanying front cover with their classmates as a way to strengthen relationships with their peers and express their creativity.
The task will be introduced to the class on the first day of National Stationery Week, Monday 13 May by children’s author Ffion Jones, a passionate mental health advocate who uses her books as a way to reach children struggling with mental health difficulties and improve their confidence and self-belief.
The best stories from each year group chosen by Maped Helix and Ffion will be included in a book which will be distributed to the winning classes. The winners will also receive a bumper class pack of Maped Helix stationery!
Any school in the UK can sign up to take part between 27 March and 8 May.
Rebecca Ostrowski, marketing executive at Maped Helix said: “National Stationery Week is one of the most important dates in our calendar and the message to get everyone writing in this digital age is one we feel passionate about.”
As well as the writing competition, Maped Helix is also sponsoring the first day (Monday 13 May) of National Stationery Week with its Mindful Monday campaign, which aims to get stationery lovers everywhere writing to improve their mental health through journalling and creative writing.
