Manuscript Pen Company’s #SaySomethingSpecial campaign

Leading stationery brand, Manuscript Pen Company, is encouraging people to share positive messages, stay connected and show others they are thinking of them during lockdown as part of its #SaySomethingSpecial campaign.

Based in Shropshire, Manuscript Pen Company is a family brand which has been producing creative tools in Britain since 1856. The company is the largest calligraphy brand globally, exporting to over 70 countries.

Manuscript first launched the #SaySomethingSpecial campaign in 2018 in conjunction with Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and saw over 500 letters and messages sent by post or via social media to spread positivity and well wishes to those in the hospital’s care.

With many families, friends and colleagues forced apart due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Manuscript is encouraging people to put pen to paper and write messages to spread positivity, show loved ones they’re thinking of them or to show their appreciation for the NHS and other keyworkers as they continue to work on the front line.

Whether it’s a colourful picture, a small piece of fine art, a handwritten letter demonstrating their calligraphy skills or a simple note, individuals can take a photo of their positive message and share across their social media channels using the hashtag #SaySomethingSpecial or send these to the Manuscript team at manuscript@manuscriptpen.com and they will be shared across the company’s social media channels.

Charlie Stockbridge, managing director at Manuscript Pen Company, said: “As a Midlands-based business spanning over five generations, family is very close to our heart and we have always believed in the power of handwritten words and messages, so what better time to spread positivity than at a time like this.

“Whether its messages to loved ones, simple thank you notes, to show gratitude to key workers, or positive thoughts for those who just need to hear it, we want you to share these with us as the #SaySomethingSpecial campaign is all about showing others you appreciate them and send a little love at a time when it may be very much needed. After the success of the campaign in recent years and with such uncertain times upon us, we’d like this year’s #SaySomethingSpecial to be bigger and brighter than ever. We’re all in this pandemic together and it’s so important that we all spread love, joy and positivity and offer hands of friendship in these challenging times and the #SaySomethingSpecial campaign aims to do just that.”
