Castlegate Stationery in Wetherby, West Yorkshire is the first independent retailer in the UK to stock Penac Japan writing instruments.
Penac is part of the Kotobuki Group, a name synonymous with the mechanical pencil. Established in 1994, the Penac brand now offers functional and high-quality Japanese made super-fast drying retractable gel pens, liquid ink pens, ultra-low viscosity ballpoints and class-leading Protti mechanical pencils.
Up until recently, the brand has only been available in mainland Europe, however, it is now available in the UK through Penac Great Britain. And the first retail display went into Castlegate Stationery in Wetherby earlier this month.
James Stafford, managing director of Penac Great Britain said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Nish [Nish Kanabar, owner of Castlegate Stationery] and his team to introduce the range to customers in the Yorkshire area.”
Bill Henshaw, sales director has been working closely with Nish over the last few months to bring into store a key selection from the substantial range of writing instruments. Nish commented: “We are proud to be chosen to partner with Penac Japan. We are impressed with the quality of the products, and especially Penac’s eco credentials.”
