Once Upon a Tuesday, with its colourful stationery will once again exhibit at London Stationery Show, but this time as a BCorp brand.
Just 10 minutes from the beach in its Cornish studio, Once Upon A Tuesday has already hit some huge milestones in its short life. Now with eight employees and an accredited Real Living Wage employer, the brand has just this March gained the prestigious achievement of BCorp status, a testament to its commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
What is a BCorp?
Certified B Corporations are for-profit companies that are committed to using business as a force for good. They are rigorously assessed by BLab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, prioritising responsibility to people and planet before profit.
“We deeply feel that If we can’t do business in a transparent, caring, respectful and purposeful way, we’d rather not do it at all,” founder Michele Ferron says.
Inspired by local BCorp pioneers like Finisterre, Michele always envisioned a business approach rooted in kindness, compassion, and respect, the way she’d ultimately like to see all organisations function.
Central to Once Upon A Tuesday’s brand philosophy is its commitment to sustainability, printing on 100% recycled paper primarily sourced from the UK, particularly Cornwall, to support local industries and economies.
Its product line includes calendars, planners, diaries, and other stationery goods, available through their website and retailers worldwide, including esteemed independents and the renowned Barnes & Noble in the USA.
Michele runs Once Upon a Tuesday with her partner Angus Johnston from a business community hub called Lanteague in Cornwall.
Once Upon a Tuesday are again finalists in the Stationery Awards Working From Home Product of the Year category after winning the award in 2023.
Once Upon A Tuesday is exhibiting on stand G210 at London Stationery Show, 14 – 15 May at the Business Design Centre. Visitor registration is now open and is free for retailers, buyers, dealers and other resellers of stationery. It is not open to the general public.
