Call For Indie Retailers To Shout About Their Store

It’s time for indie retailers to start shouting about their fabulous stores as the annual #MyShopLife Instagram challenge starts later this month.

Orchestrated by Sarah Holmes, the passionate founder of indie stationery store Pencil Me In and homeware and gifts outlet Seasgair in Elgin, it’s all set to run from Saturday, 20 April, for eight consecutive days.

Sarah and some of her indie retail pals can be seen in the video below explaining just a few elements of life as a shopkeeper to promote #MyShopLife, which is back for the sixth year running with a new downloadable planner.

“#MyShoplife is not just a typical Instagram challenge,” Sarah comments, “it’s a unique opportunity for shopkeepers to showcase their businesses and enhance their sales strategies.

“Each day’s prompt is carefully designed to empower shop owners, providing them with a platform to celebrate their shops and connect more effectively with their customer base.”

Retailers can join the challenge by posting daily photos, stories or reels on Instagram using the hashtag #MyShopLife24. Each day’s prompt is crafted to help shopkeepers highlight their stores and improve their sales techniques – and shopkeepers are also asked to tag in @pencilmeinshop.

Her passion for retailing is the driving force behind this engaging challenge, aiming to create a supportive community where participants can connect, discover new businesses, and share their passion for entrepreneurship.

“Engaging with the hashtag allows individuals to explore diverse shops and learn more about the unique stories behind each business,” added Sarah.
