Stationers’ Hall readies for Summer reopening

The magnificent 350 year old Stationers’ Hall, located close to St. Paul’s Cathedral, is preparing for its reopening in July after being closed for the last eighteen months for a major refurbishment.

The Hall is home to The Stationers’ Company, one of the oldest livery companies in the City of London which was formed in 1403. It is unusual in that over 90% of its members are or have been actively involved in the trades it represents, which include printers, bookbinders, publishers, designers, the media, paper companies and stationery and greeting cards.

The ‘new’ hall, which is the third oldest in the City of London, features a new, second reception area off the garden, a lift to all floors, air cooling in all public rooms, new kitchens and caterers – Searcy’s – a number of new different size meeting rooms (which are available for hire) and greatly improved and easier access for all.

“This is an incredibly exciting development and another milestone in the illustrious history of The Stationers’ Company” comments Christopher Leonard-Morgan, founder of London Stationery Show and National Stationery Week and the Company’s Sector Champion for the stationery and greeting cards industry. “There are currently nearly one thousand members, and a fast growing Young Stationers’ Group representing those under 40”.

The Stationers’ Company is exhibiting at London Stationery Show on Stand M503.
