Paper Mirchi partners with One Tree Planted

In March, before the country went into lockdown, Paper Mirchi founder Rani Moochhala, made a commitment to reduce her company’s carbon footprint, support reforestation and improve sustainability by partnering with www.onetreeplanted.org.

The hand-made wrap manufacturer ran a promotion to plant one tree for every order she fulfilled during March.

Her first contribution was towards tree planting in the Indian Sunderbans, an area that 4.5 million people call home and part of the largest halophytic mangrove forests in the world. These precious mangroves are under threat from non-forest land use.

Rani has said that once the pandemic situation stabilises, she intends to run a similar initiative for three months.
